These posts provide the opportunity to develop expertise in undergraduate medical teaching alongside ongoing development of skills in a chosen clinical speciality. At the end of the post, it is envisaged you will have a portfolio of competences and experience that will enhance your future career as a doctor and medical educator.

Main duties of the job

The timetable will necessarily remain flexible as the teaching commitment varies throughout the academic year. However, overall, eight sessions per week will be allocated to teaching and two sessions to the post holder's chosen specialty. This may be negotiated with the Undergraduate Programme Director depending on individual circumstances. Some of the allocated teaching time will be for preparation and continuing professional development purposes.

Time in the post will be divided between Undergraduate Education and a speciality area negotiated with the candidate at the time of commencement of the post.
