Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

• youth cautions, reprimands and final warnings will no longer be subject to automatic disclosure
• the multiple conviction rule has been removed, meaning that if an individual has more than one conviction, regardless of offence type or time passed, each conviction will be considered against the remaining rules individually, rather than being automatically disclosed.

Education, Training and Qualifications

Essential

• Registered healthcare practitioner
• Substantial broad experience relevant to area of practice
• Completed Master's degree qualification (or above)
• ILS provider
• Advanced clinical practice skills and clinical treatment skills
• Independent prescriber
• Clinical diagnostic skills including the ability to interpret CXR and laboratory investigations
• Mentor/teaching qualification
• Evidence of substantial clinical practice at advanced level
• Evidence of competence within all core ACP competencies (as per DHFT ACP framework)

Desirable

• Master's degree in "Advanced clinical practice"
• ALS provider/instructor
• Ability to perform basic interpretation of CT brain and Skeletal X-Rays

Experience

Essential

• Previous experience at managing/ leading a team

Desirable

• Experience within acute care

Knowledge

Essential

• Broad and advanced knowledge of clinical pathophysiology
• Has a sound level of knowledge in relation to invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Ability to take a full systematic focused history
• Ability to make a diagnosis based on interpretation of imaging and pathology results
• Has the knowledge to support safe clinical decision making in relation to discharge

Desirable

• Knowledge of more than one area of clinical practice - i.e. surgery, medicine, orthopaedics, ITU

Skills and Ability

• Advanced Clinical Assessment skills
• Clinical audit experience
• Evidence of proven leadership ability
• Willingness to perform and or learn advanced clinical skills appropriate to area of practice
• Ability to manage a team of patients and prioritise workload
