Job summary
The Family Mental Health Team (FMHT) has an exciting opportunity for a Recruit to Train Trainee Systemic Practitioner (conduct) to join our team as part of the NHS England (NHSE) funded Children and Young People (CYP) Psychological Training Programmes (formerly CYP-IAPT).
Recruit to Train is a government-funded initiative aiming to grow the child mental health workforce to meet much needed demand. To help reach this goal, NHSE covers salary and training costs for a 1-year post, allowing services to employ trainees to aid in implementing new or expanding existing specialist pathways to bridge the gaps in CYP mental health support.
You will be committed to the CYP Psychological Training Programme core principles: Accessibility, accountability, participation, awareness and evidence-based practice and in providing an inclusive and effective service for children and young people
You will only be offered a KCL training place if you are successful in securing this post and you meet the university training requirements (such as academic background, relevant experience, visa approval). As you also apply for a training course that is delivered by King's College London, your data may be shared with them for the purpose of processing your application (shortlisting) and enrolling you onto this Programme.
Main duties of the job
The Family Mental Health Team (FMHT) is a CAMHS team working with children and families aged up to 18. We are an MDT providing a range of group and individual interventions to parents and young people with a variety of mental health presentations (anxiety, low mood, challenging behaviours, including more complex and chronic mental health presentations). FMHT provides evidence-based 1:1, group and parenting interventions to children and families.
This is a unique opportunity to apply your learning from weekly teaching into practical clinical interventions working with clients in the service making a direct impact in the lives of children, young people and their families.
The post holder will hold an appropriate training case load and complete the necessary assignments to meet the course requirements.
Please note: The PT programme is not a standalone CYP MH training course. The programme requirespotential candidates to apply for both the University led training course and the role within aparticipating mental health service.
