Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Tavistock and Portman Autism and Learning Disability Service and lead on an Autism Assessment Recovery Pathway for Children and Young People aged 12-25 years.

This post is fixed term for 6 months and you will join a warm and welcoming team. Applicants will demonstrate a strong interest in Neurodivergence and evidence of developing specialist assessment services for young people that are evidence based. You will lead a team of 5 clinicians and will hold a highly complex caseload, developing specialised programmes of care for service users that are outcome focused and evidence based.

You will be responsible for the design and delivery of the assessment pathway to ensure young people have timely access to the care they need.

You will lead an MDT team of CAMHS professionals. Providing supervision and advising on and delivering training where required and as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

You will communicate complex information in a highly skilled and sensitive manner to members of the multidisciplinary team, care partners and service users, who may on occasion, present with challenging behaviours.

You will be responsible for the design and delivery of the assessment pathway to ensure young people have timely access to the care they need.

You will lead an MDT team of CAMHS professionals. Providing supervision and advising on and delivering training where required and as appropriate.

You will ensure that the clinical delivery is of the highest quality and in line with National guidance and according to the latest evidence base.

You will act as a case manager for service users being treated by other colleagues, providing oversight of assessments, treatment, and discharge of patients.

You may be required to convene multi-professional and multi-agency meetings, liaising with outside agencies and professionals and will act as the lead on liaison work and cross-sector partnership working such as GPs / schools/local authorities.

The post holder will act as lead for safeguarding and risk management in the team as appropriate.

You will lead on the quality, safety and continuous improvement of services provided to service users and their families.

You will act as a positive role model and participate in the education, development, and mentorship of other staff.

Essential

  • Masters level qualification as a minimum or equivalent in clinical area of practice - Social work, Nursing, Child Psychotherapy, Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, Systemic Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Speech and Language therapy
