Senior Lecturer

Job summary

The position of Senior Lecturer has been introduced to enable flexible delivery within a portfolio of courses, and where appropriate, across portfolios. It aims to facilitate the post holder in implementing a wide range of skills within an integrated post. At senior level, the post holder will be required to undertake a leadership role in relation to some aspects of course delivery. The post holder will work flexibly across a range of programmes to provide teaching, supervision and tuition to master's and doctoral students, as required.

The post holder for this post will have specific leadership and managerial responsibilities in the M80 Doctoral Training in Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, to be determined, drawn from key aspects of the course including placement management; teaching and module leadership; management and liaison to support students with specific needs; clinical and/or research supervision. The post holder will also be involved in recruitment and assessment processes and will assist flexibly in all aspects of course delivery within the portfolio and other portfolios where relevant.

Main duties of the job

Leadership

To contribute to the management of placements and the placement component of the M80 course, alongside the Placements Manager, as well as to undertake other course responsibilities, such as marking, tutoring etc.

To managerially supervise Lecturers and Associate Lecturers where required

Teaching & Training

To contribute to the teaching and supervision on a range of courses including complex clinical and/or research based Masters and where appropriate, Doctoral programmes, within the Psychoanalytic Clinical Portfolio and related portfolios as required. With regards the teaching component, this will involve ensuring all administrative tasks, liaison, and related activities are managed in line with course expectations under the direction of the Course Leads, as well as liaison with library with regards reading lists etc.
