We are also registered with the Office for Students and our Division of Education & Training (DET) delivers over 100 education and training courses to over 4,000 students, including Master's and Doctoral degrees through our University Partners. Our educators are also our clinicians, creating a rare clinician-tutor-academic model delivered in a healthcare setting where theory and practice are in constant conversation.

We are excited at the prospect of building on our excellent teaching provision and working in partnerships with a variety of external stakeholders - including governments, industry and the third sector - to address the current and future challenges in all the specialisms within which we operate. We are determined to embed innovation and enterprise in all that we do. In order to do so, we have created the new role of Associate Director of Business Development (DET) to build on our success to date and lead the Trust's ambitious business development and enterprise activities in relation to the Division of Education & Training. The post-holder will be responsible to the Director of Commercial with a dotted line to the Chief Education & Training Officer & Dean of Postgraduate Studies and will work closely with the Directors of Education.

Main duties of the job

Working across the Trust and collaborating with key stakeholders and partners including NHS England, local authorities, governments, industry, charities, and the public sector - regionally, nationally, and internationally - you will contribute to and ensure the delivery of the Trust's long term growth agenda, as well as our strategic and operational objectives, which in turn will support student recruitment and help grow the portfolio in line with the Trust's strategic goals.

The post-holder will need strong relationship skills and have a complex understanding of the commissioning and wider funding landscape and ensure that this is interpreted to internal staff groups in a clear and concise manner.

The post-holder will possess an excellent understanding of financial systems and will be involved in budget setting and forecasting of new business opportunities across the Trust and for individual complex contracts.
