Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, registered with the Association of Child Psychotherapists, to join our clinical training course team as an Associate Lecturer with specific responsibilities as the Assessment Tutor.
The Tavistock and Portman M80 Professional Doctorate in Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy have 80 plus trainees completing a full-time four-year clinical training, leading to qualification with the Association of Child Psychotherapists and a Professional Doctorate award with the University of Essex.
The M80 training is in an exciting and challenging period of change with thinking about diversity in culture and identity, and the impact of sameness and difference in psychoanalytic clinical work, taking a central role in all aspects of the training course - recruitment, learning, practice, assessment, supervision and management. This development aligns with current NHS workforce planning that requires M80 and our Child Psychotherapy training partner organisations to increase the numbers of Child Psychotherapists in training, through concerted effort to widen and diversify access to this unique NHS-sponsored clinical training. We strongly support these aims and are working hard towards them.
We need a full team to help us to achieve these goals and welcome your interest in joining us.
Main duties of the job
- To be part of the M80 course management team, working closely with the Course Lead and Head of Portfolio and contributing to sustaining and developing the clinical training programme
- To contribute to all aspects of the planning and delivery of the clinical training (including participating in Trust and course specific open events for prospective students, conducting recruitment interviews and participation in the selection of applicants.)
- To take a supporting role in the management of quality procedures, including validation/re-validation, accreditation and audit events.
- To take responsibility for the management of all aspects of the University assessment processes in relation to academic submissions for the professional doctorate in child psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
- To be required to liaise effectively with the Academic Registry team to ensure that the assessment process and examination boards are compliant with university partner and Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) regulatory requirements.
- To take lead responsibility for managing issues of academic integrity, in conjunction with the Academic Registry team
