CAMHS IAPT Trainee Systemic Family Practitioner (SFP) Band 6 - one post 1 year fixed term training post. January 2024 - January 2025 Base - Family Mental Health Team (FMHT), Tavistock Centre, 120 Belsize Lane, LONDON, NW3 5BA

Are you a mental health/CAMHS clinician with a professional qualification who has a passion for working with children and young people? Are you interested in training opportunities to develop your skills and work in a dynamic and innovative CAMHS team?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Systemic Family Practitioner (SFP) trainee to join one of our well-established CAMHS teams. Your week will consist of attending the one-year training course at KCL, combined with clinical work in the team delivering services to children, young people and their families. You will be well supported by an experienced SFP supervisor and a team of skilled MDT clinicians.

The post is covered by the Terms and Conditions of Service of the Tavistock andPortman NHS Foundation Trust and is subject to the National Health Service(Superannuation) Regulations.The normal opening hours of the Clinic are 9am to 5pm weekdays. The hours tobe worked by the post-holder must be approved by the Chair of the Department.Staff may be required to work some evenings as part of their contracted hours ofduty. Much of the multi-disciplinary work of CAMHS teams takes place onThursdays, including MDT meetings - the post-holder is expected to be availableon a Thursday.We are an Equal Opportunities employer

Essential

  • Qualifications that demonstrate a capacity to complete academic work at postgraduate diploma level.
  • A registerable professional qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., psychology, social work, counselling, nursing, occupational therapy etc) from a UK university or equivalent. Applications MAY be considered from those who do not have a registerable professional training if they have at least 3 years' experience in a CAMHS or equivalent setting

Desirable

  • Minimum second-class Bachelor's Degree from a UK University or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard in a relevant subject (e.g., psychology, social work etc).
  • Applicants who do not fulfil the academic criteria but with relevant professional experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to safeguarding children and young people

  • Ideally at least two years' experience of working with children / young people in a mental health setting
