Job summary

Are you a thoughtful CAMHS Practitioner or a Specialist CAMHS Clinician who has a passion for working with children, young people and families in community CAMHS? If so, this post will be a great opportunity for you.

As a CAMHS Practitioner (Band 6)/ Specialist CAMHS Clinician (Band 7) you will be working in both the Clinical Intake Team and North Camden Community Team. In both teams you will work within a rich MDT whereby you will carefully consider the needs of CYP and families. We are embarking on an exciting journey with our Local Authority colleagues where we will come together as an Integrated Front Door and support a smoother referral experience for Camden CYP and families.

We welcome applications from those who hold a core professional qualification to include: Registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Clinical/Counselling Psychologists, Systemic Practitioners at Intermediate Level, Systemic and Family Psychotherapists, Child & Adolescent Psychotherapists - all with CAMHS experience. We would also welcome applications from CBT therapists who have completed IAPT Recruit to Train courses and are pursuing BABCP accreditation on a preceptorship (starting on Band 6 and moving to Band 7 upon gaining accreditation and meeting preceptorship policy requirements).

Main duties of the job

Main Duties, Band 6 - CAMHS Practitioner:

  • The post holder will be required to work within a multi-disciplinary team delivering a range of outcome focused, evidence based interventions. You will contribute to the quality, safety and continuous improvement of services provided to service users and their families.
  • The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of evidenced based care to a group of service users, conscious of their changing healthcare needs and varying levels of complexity, working collaboratively with other clinicians and stakeholders.
  • The post holder will foster a culture of networking in an open and transparent way with internal and external partners. You will act as a positive role model and participate in the education, development and mentorship of other staff.

Main Duties, Band 7 - Specialist CAMHS Clinician:

  • The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of evidenced based care to a group of service users, conscious of their changing healthcare needs and varying levels of complexity, working collaboratively, with other clinicians and stakeholders. The post holder will hold a caseload of highly complex service users.
  • The post holder will contribute to the quality, safety and continuous improvement of services provided to service users and their families.
