Job summary

The post holder will be a Lead Psychologist within South Camden Community Team and will hold a senior position within the team amongst the Clinical Team Manager, other discipline leads and the Consultant Psychiatrist.

The post holder will lead and manage the psychology discipline, attending to line management, clinical supervision and manage the psychology waiting list.

The post holder will hold a highly complex caseload and develop and formulate specialised programmes of care for service users that are outcome focused and evidence based.

You will communicate complex information in a highly skilled and sensitive manner to members of the multidisciplinary team, care partners and service users, who may on occasion, present with challenging behaviours.

The post holder will act as a case manager for service users being treated by other colleagues, providing oversight of assessments, treatment and discharge of patients.

The post holder will maintain a high standard of clinical records, preparing reports for internal use and for external agencies, maintaining good communications with referrers and other professionals involved.

You may be required to convene multi-professional and multi-agency meetings, liaising with outside agencies and professionals and will act as the lead on liaison work and cross-sector partnership working such as GPs / schools/local authorities.

Main duties of the job

  1. Develop and formulate specialised programmes of care/care packages for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a service user/patient's psycho- social difficulties taking into account multiple theoretical and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy and provide highly specialised advice concerning
  2. Undertake clinical assessments of service users/patients and offer highly skilled treatment or therapy using appropriate therapeutic modalities
  3. Manage complex case

Communicate in a highly skilled and sensitive manner, complex condition-related information concerning the assessment, formulation, and treatment plans of service users/patients under their care who may be hostile or present with challenging behaviours and to monitor, evaluate and report as appropriate
