Job summary
This is a newly created permanent post and an exciting opportunity for a senior CAMHS clinician to work within a Community CAMHS team and also closely with partners in the borough. The postholder will be an enthusiastic, experienced CAMHS clinician who is familiar with working with neurodiverse CYP, namely with an ADHD presentation and has a positive track record of collaborative working relationships, working across teams and partnering services.
The post would be fitting that of a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or a senior CAMHS Clinician who has additional qualifications and skills in a psychological talking therapy(ies), e.g. CBT. We would also welcome applications from Mental Health Nurses who have completed their prescribing qualifications and have worked with this particular population.
In general, the postholder will hold a complex caseload within the multi-disciplinary team, undertaking a range of clinical assessments and offering highly skilled treatments or therapies that are outcome focused and evidence based, using appropriate therapeutic modalities. You will review cases where patients have impasses, complaints or disputes with their clinical care.
You will provide consultation to external agencies such as GPs/schools/Local authorities and expert consultation and specialist psychological advice to other staff and agencies outside the Trust
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will hold their own complex caseload within the team including responsibilities for risk management and clinical governance, planning and prioritising these.
- Undertake clinical assessments of service users/patients and offer highly skilled treatment or therapy using appropriate therapeutic modalities
- Work with team manager on intake and referral coordination
- Provide consultation to external agencies as required such as GPs/schools/Llcal authorities
- Review cases where patients have impasses, complaints, or disputes with their clinical care
- Delegated responsibility for investigating complaints and processing Freedom of Information requests
- To ensure, where appropriate, agreed standardised assessment questionnaires are completed with clients as per team protocol and to systematically collect data on caseload as required by the team manager
- Formulate specialised plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a service user/patient's psycho-social difficulties taking into account multiple theoretical and employing methods based upon evidence of efficac
