Job summary
The ICT Department provides ICT support for all the Trust's business activities and is responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting all Trust voice, data and information systems.
The Trust is unusual in that it offers a wide range of clinical services to patients, whilst at the same time, providing postgraduate courses for an annual intake of some 1,700 students. The Trust requires excellent ICT resources to support the management and development of these areas of its work, including its consultancy and research activities which are a further addition to the Trust's diverse ICT needs. The ICT department is expected to make an innovative contribution to the ongoing review of new systems, development and implementation.
Main duties of the job
An ideal candidate would provide an appropriate level of helpdesk, technical and desktop support to staff in all departments, thereby enabling them to make best use of the Trust's ICT systems. They would also be required for technical assistance to users over the phone or in person helping with day to day needs. Another important factor would be to provide training and documentation to staff and ICT colleagues in support of the Trust's ICT objectives and in line with the Trust's ICT policies. Not forgetting to assist other members of the department in their work by providing administrative and technical support as required.
Candidates should be courteous, tactful and patient at all times and to exercise the highest standards of customer care. To keep up to date with technological changes in the ICT industry and to develop new skills in response to these and in accordance with the Trust's ICT strategy.
The ideal candidate will have some experience within an IT service desk.
