Job summary

The post holder will join the South Camden Community CAMHS team (SCCT), which is a fully staffed multidisciplinary CAMHS team to work with a varied caseload of children, young people and families, participate in team meetings, and contribute to the CAMHS in schools part of the service by doing some work within school settings. Each secondary school and a considerable number of primary schools in Camden have CAMHS input from the Tavistock Camden CAMHS Teams.

This post will provide clinical work as part of SCCT, including outreach community work, generic CAMHS assessment and brief treatment, child psychotherapy assessment and treatment, as well as supporting child psychotherapy trainees in the team. The work will take place in community settings, such as schools, as well as within the team's base. The post holder will need to be able to work independently, flexibly and with professional networks. Camden CAMHS is a pilot site for Trailblazers' initiative and the post holder needs to be able to support the 4-week-waiting initiative by working in a brief assessment and treatment model. The post holder will be part of the team's duty rota system to undertake duty tasks as required. There will be opportunities to provide specialist treatment within the professional modality of the appointed clinician.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be able to work collaboratively with other members of the team, and with staff from other teams. The post holder will work with other members of the teams to develop the team's functioning and the role of the psychological thinking within it.

The post holder will make an active contribution to the child psychotherapy discipline as agreed with the Consultant Child Psychotherapist and Head of Child Psychotherapy Discipline.

The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of evidenced based care to a group of service users, conscious of their changing healthcare needs and varying levels of complexity, working collaboratively, with other clinicians and stakeholders.

You will be required to work within a multi-disciplinary team delivering a range of outcome focussed, evidence based, and complex interventions and responsible for the formulation and delivery of specialised programmes of care.

The post holder will contribute to the quality, safety and continuous improvement of services provided to service users and their families.

The post holder will foster a culture of networking in an open and transparent way with internal and external partners.
