Course Lead for Professional doctorate in advanced practice and research: consultation and the organisation (D10D) and Tavistock qualification in consultation (D10C)

We are looking for someone to lead our professional doctorate in advanced practice and research: consultation and the organisation (D10D) and the Tavistock qualification in consultation (D10C). D10D is part of the Trust's Integrated Professional Doctorate (IPD) which has three individual pathways and is validated by the University of Essex.

D10D provides students with and advanced and sophisticated education in organisational consultancy and is designed to equip professional consultants to work with the complexities of contemporary organisations in consulting and researching using a systems-psychodynamic framework. As part of the IPD it is uniquely arranged with other professional doctorates covering social work and social care and systemic therapy, making for a multidisciplinary faculty and student body and an enriching learning experience.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead and manage the experienced team who deliver the courses and be responsible for managing the course budget and recruitment. They will ensure good relationships with applicants, students and staff and that all aspects of learning, teaching and academic governance are attended to including ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion is effectively addressed in student and staff recruitment, learning and teaching materials and assessment. They will lead course development and liaison with relevant internal and external colleagues and organisations.

  • Significant post-qualifying experience consulting to organisations from a systems psychodynamic/psychsocial perspective.
  • Substantial experience of working as an educator

  • Experience of doctoral supervision in applied practitioner projects, preferably with a number of completions.
  • Research and supervision experience of psychosocial methodologies, preferably with a psychoanalytic and/or systems psychodynamic focus.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the value of difference in experience in a training context and of overseeing inclusive teaching, learning and assessment strategies
