Rotational Occupational Therapist (RLH site based)

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen as a band 5 Occupational Therapy static site-based rotation within Royal London Hospital. This is a 6 month rotational post, aimed at consolidating and enhancing knowledge and experience across acute rotations within The Royal London Hospital. The role provides high quality patient assessment, treatment and intervention as part of the specialist therapy team on each rotation. Following are the rotations available within Royal London Hospital:

Specialist Medicine (Core)

Surgical & Amputees (Core)

Older People's Service (Core)

Hand Therapy (Advanced)-12 months rotation

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, autonomous and dynamic individual who is committed to further improving their clinical assessment and activity analysis skills and providing high quality, timely and effective services to patients and the organisation.

The successful candidate will work alongside occupational therapy colleagues and work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team to develop your clinical, teaching and service development skills whilst working within a supportive and motivated team. The team is committed to ongoing learning and development and as a member of the team the successful candidate will be part of this.

Please note:

Occupational Therapists within Royal London Hospital are expected to be part of the weekend working rota

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomously provide high quality occupational therapy interventions to a wide variety of patients including the assessment and treatment of patients, provision of individual and group education and treatment sessions, provision of assistive devices (orthotics and prosthetics) and equipment and minor home adaptations in a wide variety of settings including hospital wards.
