Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Emergency Care and Trauma (ECAT) Division at the Royal London Hospital as Associate General Manager (AGM) for Imaging, Interventional Radiology (IR) and the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).
This is a senior operational leadership role with responsibility for the safe, effective and high-quality delivery of Imaging, IR and CDC services across the Royal London Hospital and the Community Diagnostic Centre at Mile End Hospital.
Working closely with the Deputy Divisional Director of Operations, Clinical Director, Associate Director of Radiographers and Sonographers, Lead Clinicians, Matrons, and senior operational colleagues, the post holder will lead operational performance, resource management and service improvement, ensuring delivery of key performance, quality and access targets in line with local and national requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operational leadership of Imaging, IR and CDC services
- Delivery of divisional financial and operational priorities
- Performance and quality management, including delivery of national targets
- Supporting clinical leaders to ensure services are responsive, innovative and patient-focused
- Leading operational problem-solving and implementation of sustainable solutions
- Acting as a key member of the ECAT Management Team with collective responsibility
- Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion and acting as an ambassador for the Trust
Main duties of the job
The Associate General Manager is a key management role and is responsible for the operational delivery of all aspects of the service areas. Key aims are:
o Co-ordinate the operational delivery of all services across the Community Diagnostic Centre at Mile End Hospital and the Imaging and Interventional Radiology Department at The Royal London Hospital as well as other services within the Division as directed by the Deputy Divisional Director of Operations and to ensure the safe and effective use of all resources. Specifically, to take a lead in achieving key performance targets in line with local and national agreements.
o In partnership with the Divisional Senior Leadership team - with the specialty Lead Clinicians, Matrons, Operational Managers and Heads of Department within the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) Division as well as within other services within the Division for the delivery of the Division's financial and operational priorities.
o Provide timely, efficient and effective operational service management support for Community Diagnostic Centre and Royal London Imaging Department.
o Support the Clinical Director, Lead Clinicians and operational team to ensure that the service is responsive, innovative and provides the highest possible clinical and performance standards.
o Lead on ensuring that all performance/quality targets are met.
