The Cardiovascular CAG is offering an exciting opportunity to join the Barts Heart Centre's cardiology services. We are looking for enthusiastic individual who will be responsible for the active management of patients' pathways, with responsibility for the efficient and effective delivery of a high performing and dedicated service. They will be managing Specialised Cardiology Admin and Clerical Staff and improving and ensuring the efficient running of the services and maintaining 18 weeks for non and admitted patients.

Main duties of the job
The purpose of this post is to actively manage the administrative processes of patient pathways, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for patients throughout their treatment by the Trust. Also to ensure and participate in providing an effective administration/typing service to the multidisciplinary team and manage the ICVD PPC team.
To provide effective and efficient running of the all specialised ICVD services. Ensuring all targets are met where possible, liaising directly with the Team Leads, and attending all senior management meetings. Ensuring all recruitment is up to date and advertised accordingly. Looking at external and internal processes of the services to ensure planning is given and support is provided. Looking at the specialist services we provide and ensuring they are maintained to a high level. Managing the 18 week PTL (patient tracking list). Managing staff through HR policies and procedures. Managing capacity and demand projects and concentrating on ASI with the services

- GCSE A Level or equivalent standard of education
- A good level of medical terminology acquired through education, training or work experience
- ECDL or equivalent experience ie experience of a range of IT packages such as word, excel, outlook and power point
Experience & Knowledge

- Minimum of 3 years administration/medical secretarial/ pathway experience or equivalent non NHS
- Experience of working with Windows packages including Microsoft Office to produce reports, letters, presentations and spreadsheets
- Experience of developing innovative solutions and contributing to planning.
- Experience with, and a creative approach to, problem solving and responding flexibly to planning and change.
- Experience of working within a team environment.
- Experience in managing your individual workload efficiently.
- Understanding of the patient pathway and RTT.
