Highly Specialist Respiratory Pharmacist 12 months fixed term- Band 8a
(37.5 hours a week including back-up on call and weekend commitments)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join the respiratory team at Barts Heart & Thoracic Centre within Barts Health NHS Trust.
The post holder will work alongside the Respiratory ArCare and pharmacy team and deliver quality care to patients through efficient medicines optimisation. The post provides several opportunities for professional and personal development, contributing to quality improvement projects and supporting the delivery of world-class and innovative respiratory services.

Main duties of the job
There is a need for close coordination with the Adult Respiratory Care and Rehabilitation (ArCare) Team, pharmacy respiratory team and wider primary care MDT such as general practitioners, pharmacy professionals, nurses, practice managers, etc to plan workload and priorities. This involves optimising cardio-respiratory medicine for COPD patients across Tower Hamlets primary care services within North-East London (NEL).
The post holder will work with primary care teams to continually develop the service, while maintaining high standards and achieving best practice to meet the needs of patients and the Trust.
The post holder communicates effectively with patients to help optimise their pharmaceutical management and through liaising with other health care professionals to design, implement plans to optimise health outcomes
