Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative and End of Life Care

Please note, there are TWO PERMANENT posts available - ONE FULL TIME (37.5 HOURS PER WEEK) and ONE PART TIME (18.75 HOURS PER WEEK)
We are pleased to offer an opportunity to join the Specialist Palliative Care Team within one of the country's largest acute NHS Trusts. The post is based at Newham University Hospital, providing ongoing support to ensure people with specialist palliative care needs receive high-quality, person-centred care.
The post holder will be an experienced practitioner with extensive palliative care expertise, delivering clinically effective and evidence-based care for patients with complex needs. Using specialist skills, you will manage a caseload of patients and support their families/carers throughout life-limiting illness.
The role contributes to a local hospital service that enables timely assessment, advance care planning, and treatment for patients with complex palliative needs. You will work collaboratively with ward staff and specialist community teams, including supporting rapid discharge home for terminal care.
You will act as a specialist resource across the system by influencing care through education and training for multi-professional teams, supporting statutory and voluntary agencies, and participating in research, audit, and service development in palliative and end-of-life care.
The post also includes flexibility to support a move toward seven-day working, providing weekend and bank holiday cover alongside the existing CNS team.
