Job summary
We are recruiting for a Band 6 Senior Scrub Nurse to join our experienced teams in Children's and Obstetric Theatres at the Royal London Hospital.
We have 4 Children's theatres and 2 Obstetric theatres at the Royal London Hospital covering a diverse range of both elective and emergency work in a variety of specialties including major trauma, via the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS). Our paediatric elective work includes a range of clinical specialities; ENT, Dental, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Plastics, General and Neonatal Surgery, Ophthalmology.
As part of your development you will have the opportunity to work in our adult inpatient theatres on a three month rotation. During the rotation you will gain invaluable trauma experiences and increase your knowledge and skills. As a scrub nurse in children's and obstetrics theatres you will also be rotated to work in our paediatric recovery areas, allowing our department to work together as one team.

Main duties of the job
Our peri-operative department, part of the Children's and Young People Service Clinical Academic Group, is committed to building a dynamic, flexible and enthusiastic team to help develop our services and achieve the Barts Health vision for the future. You will be a Registered Nurse (Child) with demonstrable commitment to your own professional development and experience in running theatre lists in a band 6 Associate Team Leader role in a busy theatre environment. You will be committed to developing professional competence and helping to build skills portfolios through experiential learning and education to maximise career prospects of each team member.
