Applicants are invited to join the General Surgery Department at Whipps Cross University Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust as a Locum Consultant in Upper GI and General Surgery. We are looking for the successful candidate to start as soon as possible. The post will be for six months, but further extensions can be considered.

The post will be for six months, but further extensions can be considered.We are seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant to join our friendly department, based in an associate teaching hospital which is dedicated to teaching and training. This will be a full time 10 PA post. The job plan will be agreed with the Clinical Leads upon a successful interview. It will have adequate SPA and Admin session, with DDC's allocates to On-Call work as well as elective theatres and clinics.

- Higher degree e.g. MS/MD/PhD

- Widespread broad based knowledge of all aspects of General & Upper GI Surgery
- Evidence of subspecialty knowledge of hepatobiliary surgery and benign upper GI Proven competency in emergency General Surgery
Desirable
Training Expected
Essential
- Higher Specialist Training in General & Upper GI Surgery. Evidence of sub-specialist training and competency in upper GI laparoscopic surgery
- Experience in training undergraduates and postgraduates
- Experience with complex hiatal work
- Evidence of formal educational training qualification

- JAG accreditation in gastroscopies
- Robotic experience
