Barts Health NHS Trust

Psychological Practitioner

The closing date is 18 March 2026

Job summary

We are seeking two part-time Practitioner Psychologists to join our innovative and award winning multidisciplinary psychodermatology service at the Royal London Hospital.

Following a successful bid for continued psychology input, funding for 1.0 WTE 8b psychology provision for 23 months has been secured through Barts Charity. We envision this role as a job share between two qualified staff members.

We are looking for HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologists with a strong interest in working within a multidisciplinary team and a desire to develop expertise in psychodermatology. Experience in providing psychology to individuals facing long-term physical health conditions is essential and experience with dermatological issues is highly desirable

Main duties of the job

The role will involve delivery of high-quality psychological assessments and evidence-based therapies tailored to individuals with dermatological conditions, as well as offering consultation and advice to dermatology professionals regarding the psychological aspects of chronic skin conditions and supporting the MDT in the delivery of psychosocial care to patients.

A key aspect of the role is to provide evaluation data on clinical outcomes, service efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, with the aim of supporting the case for ongoing psychology funding.

The post holder will collaborate on service development, audit, business planning, and leadership initiatives.

They will join a dynamic, supportive environment within the dermatology service. In addition to support from the Consultant Dermatologists and wider dermatology MDT, the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and the broader clinical health psychology team will also be available to access for support. There will be provision of regular specialist clinical supervision and opportunities for involvement in training, psychology meetings, and CPD events.

If you are enthusiastic about improving the psychological care of patients with dermatological conditions and are eager to contribute to an innovative service, we encourage you to apply
