Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist in Women's Precision medicine In the Gynaecological sector.
The post-holder will work as an independent practitioner providing education, counselling, support and advice to patients who are at an increased risk of developing gynaecological cancers in view of their family history, risk factors or a diagnosed genetic mutation. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday working across two sites, The Royal London Hospital and St Barts Hospital in London.
The Clinical Specialist Nurse will be an integral part of the Women's Precision Prevention (WPP) team in the WPP service. The postholder will work collaboratively with consultants and the medical teams in WPP service and gynae oncology
Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous practitioner and effectively co-ordinate and deliver an expert nursing service.
To manage a caseload of patients ensuring a high standard of evidence based nursing, management and discharge
To ensure that patients and their families are fully informed and supported by providing clinical support
To lead the development of evidence based clinical nursing practice in line with current research and guidelines
To establish clear lines of communication within the specialty team to ensure cohesive multidisciplinary management of patients.
To play a lead role in the operational development of both in/out patient services for patients that have a genetic mutation including surveillance.
To provide expert advice and leadership to all members of the MDT on the provision of care for this patient group.
