Whipps Cross University Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust, is seeking to appoint a full-time substantive Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology to join our established team.The successful applicant will work alongside five experienced Diabetes and Endocrinology Consultants based at Whipps Cross University Hospital. The post offers a varied and rewarding role, contributing to both inpatient and outpatient services.

  • oMRCP or Equivalent
  • oFull GMC Registration with license to practise
  • oCCT in General (Internal) Medicine, G(I)M, and a CCT in Diabetes and Endocrinology (or within 6 months of obtaining them)

Desirable

  • oAppropriate Higher Degree e.g. an MD, PHD or equivalent

Academic Achievements

Essential

  • oGood track record of research in a related field

Desirable

  • oEvidence of active research with evidence of winning grants or publishing peer reviewed articles
  • oEvidence of giving successful presentations

Experience

Essential

  • oBroad experience in Diabetes & Endocrinology clinics and ward work
  • oExcellent clinical skills
  • oALS certificate

  • oExperience in conducting clinical trials

  • oDetailed knowledge of Gastroenterology and of the specialist skills required for this post
  • oKnowledge of multidisciplinary clinical audit and demonstrable commitment to improving quality of care to patients
