Job summary
The General Manager (orthopaedics) is a key position within the Surgery & Cancer Divisional leadership team who is responsible for overseeing the day to day management and operational delivery of the Division's high quality, patient focused services whilst driving forward an exciting service improvement agenda
Main duties of the job
- Be responsible for the operational delivery of Orthopaedic Services delivered at the Newham Hospital and ensure the safe and effective use of all resources.
Take the lead in achieving key performance targets in line with local and national agreements including constitutional standards, RTT and elective recovery, outpatient transformation and the delivery of Trust strategies.
In partnership with the service leads, take operational management responsibility for the delivery of service development and quality improvement projects, striving for high levels of patient and staff satisfaction across the Division.
Take responsibility for the collation, presentation and reporting of information. This includes the completion of weekly highlight report such as RTT, planning, and reporting packs for the monthly Performance Review meetings (operational & financial) Divisional Board and other monthly assurance meetings.
Act as a key stakeholder for the Orthopaedic Clinical Network representing Newham University Hospital alongside the Clinical Director and Clinical Lead. To problem solve and identify solutions across the Barts Health Group to optimise the Orthopaedic services delivered at Newham University Hospital, particularly Barts health Orthopaedic Centre.
