Job summary
We are looking to appoint 3x junior clinical fellows based at Royal London Hospital in the Department of surgical Gynaecological Oncology. The post is initially for six months, with a possible extension to twelve months.
The post holders will play an integral role working in the multi-disciplinary team in our award-winning Cancer Centre of excellence. The post holder will work with the team of 7 Consultant Gynaecological Oncologists, 3 sub-specialty fellows, 1 research clinical fellow and 7 junior clinical fellows including this post.The post holders will actively contribute to the on-going research in the department.
Surgical gynaecological oncology inpatients are managed on the surgical ward. There are 7-8 all day operating lists 4 days a week (3 x 2 parallel list, 1 x alternate parallel/single list). Many cases are operated on laparoscopically and robotically which facilitates rapid patient turnover.
We also perform ultra-radical ovarian cancer surgery. The inpatient service is supported by dedicated ward staff with expertise in gynaecological oncology nursing and physiotherapy as well as a team of clinical nurse specialists. The post-holders will be expected to liaise with the Medical, Clinical Oncology and Palliative Medicine teams.

Main duties of the job
Barts Health NHS Trust has a medical audit department which is actively co-ordinating developments in this field. The post-holder would be expected to participate in the Directorate's medical audit.
The Medical College holds a weekly Grand Round to which all academic and medical staff are invited. There are monthly audit meetings, mortality and morbidity review meetings, multidisciplinary radiology and histology meetings and a weekly oncology teaching programme for junior doctors. Within the trust there is also an organised PACES teaching programme.
The Medical College has excellent academic facilities, which are available for the use of clinical staff.
