Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity; we have a vacancy on the Neonatal Transfer Service London for Senior Band 6 Clinical Technologist with a minimum of 3 years significant technical experience in the management, maintenance and performance checking of complex specialist medical equipment, to apply for the position on London's only dedicated neonatal transfer service.
Come and join our Clinical Engineering team to learn and develop your skills, within a specialist service caring for a range of sick neonates who require transfer across the London area and beyond. This career path will allow you to develop your portfolio, experience working within a small team setting, stabilising and transferring some of the sickest babies across London and the wider counties.
If successful you would be welcomed into a friendly team consisting of 3 Clinical Technologists; 3 Neonatal Consultants, specialist registrars/clinical fellows, Matron; PDN and experienced transport nurses. These team members are complemented by technicians from St John Ambulance Service.
You will commence with an induction programme supported with Manufacturer training on a variety of medical devices.
Please note: When calculating the basic salary for sponsorship, HCAS (High Cost Area Supplement) is not included for non-medical roles. This ensures fairness and consistency within our organisation, as some of our sites fall under inner HCAS, while others are classified as outer HCAS.
Main duties of the job
To be part of a Neonatal Engineering Team, providing support and maintaining specialist clinical equipment at Neonatal Transfer Service (NTS) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust.
To provide specialist clinical technical support through carrying out planned preventative maintenance, repair, calibration, safety and acceptance testing on a wide range of specialist medical equipment in NTS and NICU. To ensure all equipment is monitored, safe and functional for clinical use.
To maintain the information on the medical equipment management database for the site,
ensuring that records are accurate and up to date, to provide accurate management
information and to support service planning and delivery.
To ensure a good communication is kept within the department and the stakeholders, crucial for the unique challenges that NTS and NICU are facing.
To ensure that all audits, PPM's, database and the like are regularly maintained and updated. To ensure risks are identified and escalated and that good governance is practised at all times. To implement the departmental ISO9001 QMS.To deputise for the Lead Clinical Technologists, as required, maintaining standards of service delivery. To maintain and develop own technical skills and competence by identifying and agreeing clear training needs and objectives through the Trust's appraisal system.
