Research Fellow (eqv to ST3+) in Fetal Medicine

Job summary

Applications are invited for one post based at the Royal London Hospital to commence as soon as possible for a period of one year.

These posts provide an excellent opportunity for training for an obstetric trainee or post- CCT doctor with intermediate/advanced obstetric ultrasound skills who wishes to pursue exposure in Fetal Medicine.

A MINIMUM of 12 months experience in hands-on obstetric ultrasound is essential. Candidates without any ultrasound experience will NOT be shortlisted.

Main duties of the job

Undertake obstetric ultrasound screening, diagnosis, and follow-up of pregnancies complicated by fetal structural and growth abnormalities.

Participate in simple invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures (amniocentesis) under consultant supervision.

Deliver care in accordance with local Obstetric Ultrasound and Fetal Medicine guidelines and national standards (e.g. FASP).

Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary clinics including fetal cardiology, paediatric surgery, genetics, neonatology, and maternal medicine.

Ensure effective liaison and communication with all professionals involved in antenatal counselling, diagnostic work-up, and perinatal management.
