Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician with a strong background in Clinical Trials to lead and operationally manage all aspects of the clinical trials pharmacy service at St Bartholomew's Hospital. This service supports a large and diverse clinical trial portfolio across world-renowned specialties, including Cancer, Cardiology, Respiratory, and Endocrinology. Treatments range from traditional outpatient oral therapies to aseptically prepared products and advanced therapeutic investigational medicinal products (ATIMPs). This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge research and improving patient outcomes.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role include:
Lead and manage day-to-day clinical trial pharmacy operations at St Bartholomew's Hospital.
Oversee trial set-up, maintenance, and closure, ensuring compliance with GCP, GMP, and Trust standards.
Oversee IMP receipt, storage, dispensing, accountability, and destruction, maintaining accurate documentation and SOPs.
Ensure regulatory approvals, audit readiness, and adherence to KPIs.
Provide specialist leadership, training, and mentorship to technical staff, promoting CPD and service quality.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and sponsors for efficient trial delivery and patient safety.
