We have an exciting opportunity to Join Barts health Trust as a highly specialist rehabilitation physiotherapist in the Specialist Medicine Team at the Royal London Hospital. Barts Health is a high performing group of NHS hospitals that is renowned for excellence and innovation, providing equitable, safe and compassionate care to our patient in East London and beyond.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual that is passionate about delivering evidence based, innovative care to patients living with a range of acute and chronic medical conditions. The team covers the Gastroenterology, Hepatobiliary, Renal wards and HDU, Endocrinology & Haematology, Respiratory and Cardiology wards including all neurological and stroke outliers. The Respiratory ward has two 4 bedded enhanced care bays that cares for patients on NIV, heated high flow therapy and those with altered airways.

Successful candidates will be experienced in delivering quality improvement projects and will lead on service development under the guidance of the clinical leads. They will have knowledge of local and national guidance and initiatives relating to acute rehabilitation and respiratory care and be experienced in delivering teaching to a range of audiences.

This opportunity is suitable for an experience band 6 who is ready for the next step in their career or an existing band 7 looking to broaden their experience.

Main duties of the job

o To work in a diverse multicultural environment in a leadership role within the specialist medicine team to deliver high quality, patient focussed care

o To take a lead role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients living with long term conditions with complex rehabilitation needs across the acute medical wards including Gastroenterology, Hepatobiliary, Renal, Endocrinology & Haematology, Respiratory and Cardiology

o To take a lead role in the advances assessment and treatment of outlying neurological and stroke patients on the medical wards including leading on facilitating their transition closer to home

o To support with clinical leads in service development leading on innovation and quality improvement in line with local and national healthcare priorities

o To be responsible for the induction, supervision, learning and development of rotational staff within the team.

o To be jointly responsible with clinical leads for overseeing clinical governance within the team including but not limited to managing clinical risk, staff development, and rota management.

o To support the overnight respiratory on-call services
