Mortuary Services Manager Band 8a

37.5 Hrs per Week

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead our Mortuary team. This post will be based at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel. The post holder will be required to Lead and assist in all aspects of Mortuary Services including post mortem provision for adults, perinatal/paediatric cases and care of the deceased.

You will lead and assist on behalf of the Mortuary with Porters competency training/ Hospital medical staff inductions and attend Trust meetings with our service users. Main duties of the job

The mortuary service at Barts Health comprise of one mortuary facility based at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.

The Cellular Pathology and Cancer Diagnostics Division provides diagnostic and screening services for North East London. Our facilities are close to underground and DLR services. The Mortuary service performs approximately 200 post mortems Per annum and is regional referral centre for perinatal cases. The Mortuary is HTA accredited. About us

The NHS East and South East London Pathology Partnership is an arms-length organisation providing pathology services to Barts Health NHS Trust, Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The Pathology Partnership is hosted by Barts Health.

The Pathology Partnership is based on well-established models for pathology networks, with the Royal London Hospital becoming the main hub laboratory for the network and Essential Service Laboratories (ESL) as a minimum at all other Hospital sites.

The 2020/21 total operating costs across the Partnership were c. £126m per annum with a workforce establishment of circa. 822 WTE.
