Job summary

The Barts Cancer Centre at St. Bartholomew's Hospital is looking for an experienced senior nurse for our cancer inpatient wards for the Cancer division to be part of an evolving and dynamic Cancer Team within our Department. We are looking for a cancer nurse with significant experience within a cancer or similar acute care setting and be a registered healthcare professional. You will have obtained a qualification in a nursing or allied health professional background and have a cancer care qualification with significant experience with the delivery or implementation of inpatient care delivery & strategy with a strong emphasis on quality & safety.

As a matron within the cancer division, we are responsible for promoting and protecting the reputation of the Trust whilst maintaining a duty of care to our patients

Main duties of the job

The role of the matron is to provide high quality, safe and supportive care. The matron will not only be a clinical expert but will also have commitments to the education and training of the multi-disciplinary team and to research and audit projects.

You will also establish and oversee efficient clinical and business systems to support the directorate so that we can deliver an efficient and professional clinical service to the trust. One of the primary objectives of your role will be to maintain and improve the quality & safety objectives for your services by ensuring good governance .A strong customer service attitude and collaborative approach is key
