Job summary

This is an incredibly exciting time at St Bartholomew's Hospital as we realise a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to improve services for today's patients and future generations, creating world class Cancer and Cardiovascular services. With an increase in Theatre activity and opening of additional recovery beds we have opportunities for nurses with recovery or other peri-operative experience to join us at St Bartholomew's Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic Recovery Practitioner to support our Theatres and Cath lab programme. Our Thoracic and General theatres support Breast surgery, Endocrine, ENT and Occular surgery. Experience within these specialities is desirable alongside enthusiasm and a desire to provide high quality and compassionate care. We offer a wide range of development opportunities including, Band 5 development programme, the opportunity for further academic studies and attendance at external conferences and courses.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the safe care of patients in recovery area until discharge to the ward area. Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, communicating clearly with anaesthetic and other healthcare professionals whilst maintaining a safe environment Support the daily delivery of the service and utilising advanced knowledge and skills, ensure that the clinical requirements of the patients are achieved.
