CT/MRI Imaging Assistant

Job summary

Due to the expansion of our service operating7 days between the hours of 08:00 to 20:00, we are looking for Band 3 imaging assistants to join our growing MRI/CT team with in the general imaging department at St Bartholomew's Hospital.

Key working relationships will be with the Imaging head of radiography, MRI/CT Lead Radiographer, Radiologists, MRI & rotational radiographers, imaging assistants and other clinical and professional staff.

As a member of our busy and dynamic department your vital role would be to provide the highest quality care for patients referred to our service. You would do this by assisting the Radiographers with the provision of the MRI/CT service preparing patients for a variety of studies changing and gaining IV access through cannulation.

It is essential to have good organisational skills. The successful candidate will need to be motivated and be able to demonstrate how they motivate their team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for providing support to, and will form part of the MRI and CT teams.

Working under trained radiographer's supervision to provide the highest standard of patient care.

The post holder will prepare patients for CT and MRI scans including siting intravenous cannulas. The post holder will assist the radiographers in the smooth running of the imaging department and complete the daily tasks. The post holder will be involved in manual handling of patients regularly in CT and MRI.
