Job summary
The Royal London Hospital is the tertiary Neurosciences and Major Trauma centre for North East London and Essex. It is a specialist centre for Stroke and home to one of eight designated hyper-acute stroke units (HASUs) in London. Barts Health also has been awarded Tessa Jowell accreditation in brain tumour treatment with a strong focus onquality of life.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for innovative and motivated Physiotherapists to join our Band 7 Neuro-Physiotherapy rotation through the below areas of specialism:
o Hyper Acute Stroke unit and Acute Stroke Unit (HASU/ASU)
o Neuro Trauma / Neurosciences including Neuromuscular & Motor Neuron Disease
o Neuro Trauma / Neurosciences including Neuro-oncology
o Rapid Access to Acute Rehabilitation Unit (RAAR) - Level 1 equivalent rehabilitation
This rotation will give you the opportunity to work as a highly specialised physiotherapist as part of the wider multidisciplinary team to provide a seamless integrated model of care and rehabilitation in line with our WeCare values and behaviours.
You will support and be supported by your Clinical Lead and fellow Band 7 staff as well as providing leadership and supervision to other members of the team. You will engage in regular supervision, education and training that address your learning and development needs including supportive appraisal conversations.
Main duties of the job
This Band 7 physiotherapy post comprises of 12-15 month rotations through the below areas of specialism:
o Hyper Acute Stroke unit and Acute Stroke Unit (HASU/ASU)
o Neurosciences including Neuromuscular & Motor Neuron Disease
o Neurosciences including Neuro-oncology
o Major Trauma Rapid Access to Acute Rehabilitation Unit (RAAR)
Note: Rotational length and area of specialism may be subject to change depending on service need across Therapies.
