Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the North London Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN) as aResearch Facilitatorwithin the Research Support Team. The Network has been established to strengthen collaboration between researchers, NHS partners and wider community organisations, and Research Facilitators play a vital role in promoting this collaboration across current and planned projects.

The post holder will work closely with researchers, primary care staff at GP practices, pharmacies, multi-disciplinary teams, NHS Trust R&D departments, and providers in community and wider care settings (e.g. care homes, charities, faith-based groups, prisons, and schools). In conjunction with the Agile Team, they will actively support the set-up and delivery of studies, identify recruiting sites, and provide performance data support. They will also help ensure governance requirements are met, deliver training, and maintain positive relationships with local NHS and community organisations.

Main duties of the job

The focus for this role is to lead the delivery and/or set up of National Institute for Health and Care Research Research Delivery Network (NIHR RDN) Portfolio studies across varied health and care settings. This will require flexible autonomous working across disciplines and the Regional RDN (RRDN) region. This post has a dual function and the post holder will either lead on research delivery and/or research support for wider care settings dependent upon regional need. Research delivery will involve the correct identification, recruitment, delivery and follow up for research participants according to the appropriate research protocols.

Research support will involve engaging with stakeholders to promote research activity, site identification, set up and associated governance. The post holder will need interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate collaborative working relationships across a breadth of stakeholders to maximise 3 engagement opportunities.

This post may contribute to line management for and leadership of a team of research delivery staff working autonomously in a variety of specialties and settings.

  • Educated to degree level in science or health related discipline or in another field with experience of research trials or equivalent relevant experience/training and educated or working towards postgraduate degree level.
  • CRP's should be on or working towards accredited registration with the AHCS.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.

  • Has completed or is undertaking a course in management / leadership.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Leadership management experience in a health care setting
  • Knowledge of the governance and legislative framework for conducting clinical research studies, including UK Policy Framework for Health and Care Research, UK Clinical Trials Regulations.
