An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent 0.5 wte Practitioner Psychologist to join Barts Heart and Thorax Centre Psychological Services based at St Bartholomew's Hospital as the Lead Psychologist for the Heart Attack Centre (HAC) and Heart Failure (HF) Team.The successful applicant will join a friendly and supportive group of psychological professionals at St Bartholomew's Hospital including practitioner psychologists and an art therapist. You will be able to access funded CPD and receive specialist group supervision (e.g. ACT, CFT, Narrative therapy and EMDR) alongside individual supervision which will be provided by a consultant psychologist who is also the service lead.We operate within a mixed model, i.e. specialty attached psychologists embedded within their respective medical teams with centralised referral allocation so that workload can be shared evenly between clinicians and allocated according to skill mix and case complexity. This post is varied and exciting with lots of opportunity for leadership, innovative practice, service development, and research.As a service we are actively working to increase diversity within our workforce, as well as to improve equity of access and outcomes for all patients within cardio-respiratory services. Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will lead the HAC and HF pathways within Barts Heart and Thorax Centre Psychological Services, with a particular focus on overseeing the provision and evaluation of specialist workshops for patients. Their role will include working in an embedded and proactive way to coordinate the delivery of psychological services to the HAC and HF teams. Applicants should therefore be keen to engage in multi-disciplinary working.The post holder will also be expected to provide line management and clinical supervision to both qualified and unqualified members of our team.
