The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Consultant in Fetal Medicine to join our dedicated maternity team at Newham University Hospital, part of Barts Health NHS Trust - one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country.
Newham is one of London's most diverse boroughs, and our maternity service delivers around 6,500 babies each year, providing a dynamic and rewarding environment for consultants who are passionate about delivering outstanding care to women and their families.
Main duties of the job
- To be integral to providing Fetal Medicine services.
- To take an active role in developing clinical governance initiatives, participate in multidisciplinary audit, clinical effectiveness initiatives and risk management.
- To have regard at all times to the clinical and quality standards set out in the Patients' Charter and the local purchasers' contracts.
- To liaise effectively and on a timely basis with General Practitioners, community services, and all healthcare agencies.
- To maintain and promote team and multi-disciplinary work with the specialties, working closely and regularly with the consultant medical staff.
- To provide leadership in teaching and clinical research.
- To be up to date in statutory and mandatory training programs.
- To maintain 'Good Medical Practice' and be in 'good standing' with the RCOG.
