Consultant Pharmacist - Haemato-Oncology and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP) - 8C
Barts Health has an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced and motivated individual to join the pharmacy department in a Consultant Pharmacist for Haemato-Oncology and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP).
This post will have leadership and management responsibility for the development and delivery of effective pharmacy services for Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs). The post holder will work in conjunction with the specialist clinical leads, clinical trials (R&D), pharmacy aseptic staff and Quality Assurance specialists to develop the provision of an efficient, high quality, professional and well-coordinated service capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements relating to ATMPs including clinical trials. In line with national guidance, the Consultant Pharmacist has four main functions relating to expert practice; professional leadership; education, mentoring and overview of practice; and research, evaluation and service development
The position is based at St Bartholomew's Hospital but you will also visit other sites within Barts Health.

Main duties of the job
Key dutieso To strategically lead and develop pharmacy services for ATMPs and Haemato-Oncology for the Trust.o To act as a role model and national expert in ATMPs, ensuring a consistently high level of pharmacy input in line with corporate objectives and NHS England policy.o To provide expert advice to the Trust and pharmacy clinical trials teams in respect of all aspects of ATMP manufacture, procurement and use of and adherence to associated legislationo To promote the safe use of medicines management for ATMPs across the Trust and act as an expert resource in these practice areas across the Trust, the region and nationally.o To work with the relevant stakeholders in developing a model of care delivery for the introduction and management of ATMPs, including prescribing, preparation, storage, dispensing, administration and patient monitoring, initially for CAR-T cells and then other ATMPs as they become available, working closely with clinical trials colleagues and NHS England.o To lead education and development in ATMPs and Haemato-Oncology for Trust staff and other staff working in these therapeutic areas regionally and nationally.o To accept referrals from clinical staff regarding introduction of ATMPs, providing expert opinion and consultancy support where appropriate.o Ensuring delivery of cost-effective prescribing across trust by working with commissioners to manage budgets, formulate cost improvement plans and monitors any potential savings.
