Job summary

We are pleased to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for Band 5 nurses with a passion for respiratory medicine the opportunity to join us at St Bartholomew's on a specialist respiratory ward. We are particularly interested to hear from applicants with respiratory experience, however nurses with limited experience and from other clinical backgrounds will be supported to develop in the role.

This exciting position will offer you the opportunity to develop you nursing career and gain experience within a specialist respiratory unit.

Ward 4D&E provide specialist respiratory care to patients with a wide range of complex conditions including COPD, cystic fibrosis, asthma and bronchiectasis. You will have the opportunity to learn and understand the disease pathophysiology, treatments and interventions including non-invasive ventilation treatment.

As well as working alongside experienced nurses, clinical specialists and therapists in the clinical areas you will supported and guided by our in house education team. Access to the Trust preceptorship programme is offered for all newly registered nurses. You will attend study days and have access to learning opportunities including in-house courses, simulation and virtual learning. The successful applicant will be also offered the learning opportunities: Management and Leadership training, Cardiothoracic training, local courses and university specialised courses.

The aim of this post is to provide direct patient care and enhance the well- being of patients by developing specific clinical competencies and enhancing knowledge through a lifelong learning approach.
