REGISTRATION AUTHORITY AGENT - BAND 4

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registration Authority Agent to join the team and assist inthe Trusts continued growth of Smartcard enabled applications.

In brief, the RA facilitates the Identity & Access Management (IAM) process for the Trust via

completion of robust Identity checks, production of physical and Virtual Smartcards and theassignment of Position based access for use across numerous clinical applications and Electronic.

Staff Records (ESR).

The successful candidate will be required to conduct appointments and sessions autonomously both in the office and at any trust site. There is also a requirement to provide ongoing technical support around the Smartcard and associated software. You will need to provide accurate, clear and concise information often of a technical nature, assisting with problem solving and signposting as appropriate.Ensure continuity of the trust RA service, to support timely access by clinical and support staff as well as training access and staff testing access on behalf of the project teams.

Main duties of the job

Maintain accurate and up to date records of all activities associated with the provision of the RA service in accordance with the Data Protection Act and other Information Governance rule and regulations.Confirm to all National and Trust policies and procedures regarding registration for NHS CRS Smartcard applications.Train and support staff for the introduction of smartcards to access clinical systems.

Perform RA Activities according to Trust policies and procedures including, but not limited to:o User registrationo Verifying user ID checks to e-GIF level 3 & taking photoso User NHS Spine UUID account creationo Smartcard production and issuanceo Ensure terms and conditions of Smartcard usage are agreed too Role profile maintenance/administrationo Adding or changing role profiles (where appropriate)o Deactivating role profileso Revocation and cancelling smartcardso User suspensiono PIN/Passcode resettingo Smartcard certificate renewalo Replacing lost and damaged smartcardso Incident reportingo Advising on and monitoring user access and smartcard useo Providing user information and reports to the CS Technical Teamo Providing appropriate training and process advice and guidanceo Diagnosis of RA related problems and their resolutiono Advice and referral to the correct department for non-RA related problems

Essential

  • Educated to A Level, or equivalent in English and Mathematics or a scientific subject.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Identity Management (IIM) and in particular, User Identity Manager (and successor system)

Desirable

  • Professional or vocational qualification and good knowledge og information technology supported by evidence relevant to continuous professional development

Experience

  • Experience supporting projects in an NHS environment (preferably ICT or HR) and users of critical systems in a demanding environment
  • Proficiency in ICT facilities and tools including e-mail, text, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Experience of using the NHS Spine User Directory (SUD), User Identity Manager (UIM), Smartcard Management System (CMS) and Electronic Staff Records (ESR).
