Barts Health NHS Trust is looking to appoint a Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine on a fixed-term basis for 14 months. This full-time post (10 PAs) is based at Whipps Cross University Hospital, offering an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and progressive respiratory team in East London.This role is ideal for an experienced or newly appointed consultant passionate about delivering excellent respiratory care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, while also contributing to service development and innovation.
Main duties of the job
You will join a team of eight experienced Respiratory Consultants, working across inpatient wards and a dedicated Chest Clinic. The post includes responsibilities in both general respiratory medicine and Tuberculosis services.Key responsibilities include:o Leading the Tuberculosis (TB) Service, with a mix of TB and general respiratory clinics.o Participating in the Respiratory Consultant of the Week rota, providing daily inpatient care (Monday to Friday) and clinical advice across hospital teams.o Contributing to the acute general medical rota, managing general medical patients.o Involvement in subspecialty areas, tailored to the needs of the department and the appointee's interests.Consultants undertake inpatient work for one week in every eight, with the remaining
