Bart's Heart and Thorax Centre (BHTC) are currently seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic Cardiac MRI / CT trained Radiographer with a wealth of clinical and managerial experience who is looking for the opportunity to lead a friendly, hard-working, ambitious and highly skilled team of Cardiac Radiographers within the largest Cardiovascular Centre in Europe. This is currently a 12 month fixed term contract, potentially with opportunity to extend.
Utilising state of the art equipment, leading in Cardiac Research and paving the way for innovative and exciting opportunities within the field of Cross-Sectional Cardiac Imaging, the department is made up of 3 dedicated Cardiac MRI scanners and a brand new Siemens Naeotom Alpha photon counting Cardiac CT scanner, networking and expanding our services across the Trust.
Teaming with the Operational Lead Radiographer for Cardiac Cath Labs and deputising for the Head of Radiography in their absence, you would become an integral part of the BHTC senior team working alongside multidisciplinary colleagues and key stakeholders reporting and advising on service demands, expansion and delivery, as well as development of the professional group.
Main duties of the job
As part of BHTC, the department is involved in a large amount of research and complex scanning with plenty of opportunities to get involved. We are immensely proud to have many of our Radiographers publishing research and representing us at conferences both in the UK and around the World.
Cardiac Imaging has won awards for scanning pacemakers and is a National Leader in scanning patients with Cardiac devices. As part of BHTC, the department is involved in a large amount of research and complex scanning with plenty of opportunities to get involved. We are immensely proud to have many of our Radiographers publishing research and representing us at conferences both in the UK and around the World.
The post holder will provide experience and leadership in driving quality and efficiency service developments, with a particular focus on advanced practice to ensure that we continue to provide a truly world-class patient-centred service, to patients from around London and beyond.
As a part of this fast paced and exciting role, you would be involved in the day-to-day running and coordination of the scanners and staff, undertaking both managerial and clinical duties, working closely with the Head of Radiography, Consultant Cardiologists and Radiologists, Physiologists and the Research team.
