An exciting opportunity has become available within our colposcopy service. We are looking for an enthusiastic dynamic individual to work in our colposcopy service. As a nurse practitioner, the post holder will support the colposcopy lead nurse and work closely with the medical and administrative teams to ensure that local women get the best care possible from this service. The post holder will work with all members of the team to ensure that the colposcopy service meets the expected national standards. The post holder will be supported by the colposcopy lead nurse, gynaecology unit matron, gynaecology ADoN, clinical leads as well as our service management team working together to ensure that the patient experience is outstanding.
The post holder will be an accredited and experienced nurse Colposcopist and act as an autonomous practitioner in undertaking diagnostic and therapeutic clinic; working clinically for a minimum of 50% of contracted hours, taking responsibility and accountability for appropriate clinical management and care programmes.

Main duties of the job
Duties include; carrying out colposcopy clinics, managing referrals, writing clinical letters and participating in audit and governance processes.
The post holder will work with the clinical team in colposcopy to support the development and delivery of the cervical screening service in accordance with NHS England Service specifications.
With the support of the lead nurse colposcopist, the post holder will provide clinical leadership, expertise, advice, and support to the nursing and wider multi-professional team to facilitate the effective delivery of care to patients at all times.
The post holder must have theoretical & practical experience of the clinical skills required to run nurse led clinics.
The post holder will provide clinical and professional advice within the colposcopy service.
The post holder will participate in the training of colleagues.
