Job summary

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and hard-working person to work in our ophthalmology theatres. You must be a registered nurse/ODP (previous ophthalmic experience is preferable) and be an excellent communicator as you will have everyday contact with multi-professional colleagues where results and positive achievements will be crucial. Exceptional personal and organisational qualities are key attributes in this role. The ability to supervise and coach staff will also be necessary, as will a focus on delivering the highest standards of care and service to our patients.

Main duties of the job

o To establish high standards of pre/ peri and post-operative clinical careo To contribute to the delivery of high standards of practice in all aspects of the service and in clinical skillso To coordinate clinical activities and develop clinical expertise through leadershipo To assist in the smooth running and organization of the shift teamo To rotate through the Ophthalmology Departmento To ensure high quality patient care is delivered and take appropriate steps if this is not the caseo To participate in the delivery and organization of formal and informal teachingo To participate in activities/ projects which contribute to the provision and delivery of evidence- base practiceo To provide health education and advice
