Whipps Cross University Hospital is part Barts Health NHS Trust which is the largest Trusts in EnglandCurrently there is a vacancy for a highly motivated Band 5 Registered Nurse within the Endoscopy unit at Whipps Cross Hospital. The unit is an impressive Endoscopy facility boasting three procedure rooms with a fourth room about to be commissioned. Patients are treated for both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the facilities by a dedicated competent multi-skilled workforce, who put patient focused care at the forefront.
For this band 5 position you will be supported to undertake to work across the different clinical areas of the Endoscopy unit. The candidate must be willing to continue with professional development and be aware of the Trusts' mission and values.

Main duties of the job
Admit patients for endoscopic procedures prepare and assist during endoscopic procedures; recover patients working in the unit's recovery area, to help the band 6 staff to ensure the smooth running of the endoscopy unit.To discharge patients home post procedure, to offer health education to patients about diet and medication post procedure.To work as part of a large team to ensure the welfare of patients and staff.To pre-assess patient before their endoscopic procedures.To work in conjunction with the Senior and Junior Sisters/charge Nurses in the endoscopy Unit, to ensure the unit is staffed appropriately and that all staff are trained to meet the demands of this growing service. To participate in the training programme within the unit and Trust.To be part of a team of endoscopic experts within the Barts Health NHS Trust, helping to line managing the Nursing assistants; be actively involved in the recruitment and appraisal of all staff in the area and the development of further training for this group of staff.
