An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist with an interest and experience in neurology to join our newly established neuro rotation. You will be part of a large, friendly, and dynamic multidisciplinary team, based at Royal London and Mile End Hospitals, with rotations in, HASU and acute stroke, community stroke team, acute neurosciences and neuro trauma, Rapid Access Acute Rehabilitation and community neuro team.

Main duties of the job

These rotations will provide opportunities to provide assessment and intervention to adults with both acquired and progressive neurological conditions which is holistic, and goal orientated. You will be given the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, and experience with working with those with traumatic brain injury including disorders of consciousness, and post -traumatic amnesia, poly trauma, spinal cord injury, stroke, MND, and functional neurological disorder. The rotation choices will enable you to follow patients through their journey from acute to rehab and community.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for neuro Occupational Therapy, excellent communication skills, plenty of initiative and enthusiasm, and with the ability to work autonomously and as a part of a wider MDT. You will be committed to your own learning and development and ways to innovate occupational therapy practice.

Within Bart's Health, we offer a robust teaching and training programme with the opportunity to complete quality improvement and audit projects and we provide a supportive and engaging environment to develop and grow our therapists. You will have the opportunities to develop your specialist neuro clinical skills utilising evidence based practice with support and guidance from our Band 7's and Band 8a clinical specialist neuro OT.
