Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the busy ENT admin team at Royal London Hospital. The successful candidate will provide administration support to a number of consultants in the department and will play a key role within a multi-disciplinary team.

The post holder will need excellent organisational and communication skills and will have a strong commitment to delivering a high quality service for our patients.

Main duties of the job

The ENT Patient Care Coordinator will provide an administrative role within the ENT department, supporting the efficient and effective delivery of patient care pathways.

With a minimum of supervision, the post holder will use their initiative to coordinate patient appointments, liaising with clinical staff and administrative teams to book, schedule, and manage the department's appointment system. They will utilize relevant systems, including CRS and eRS, ensuring accurate and timely data entry to support seamless patient care.

Be responsible for maintaining and updating the department's database, ensuring that patient and staff information is accurate, confidential, and secure, in line with Trust policies and national standards.

To plan and prioritize elements of their own workload, ensuring tasks are completed within agreed timelines while meeting the operational needs of the department. Where appropriate, the post holder will provide guidance and supervision to trainees, students, and volunteers to ensure consistency in service delivery.

To assist the ENT department in meeting national waiting time targets, such as two-week wait or other specified standards, ensuring breaches are avoided through effective pathway management and communication with clinical teams.

The role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality services for adult patients, with attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and adherence to the Trust's policies and procedures.
