Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative, and dynamic individual to lead and head our Radio Pharmacy team based at St Bartholomew's Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing and forward-thinking Division working collaboratively with colleagues to develop radio pharmacy capacity to support an expanding nuclear medicine department and providing to a range of external radiopharmaceutical customers.

The post holder, reporting to the Divisional Director of Clinical Services (St Bartholomew's Hospital), will work closely with Group Chief Pharmacist and wider senior leadership team to maximise the benefits of working within the sites to provide a cohesive radio pharmacy service to patients, the trust and partners.

Main duties of the job

This challenging role requires someone who can demonstrate excellent leadership and organisational skills, can communicate effectively across all levels, and has the ability to prioritise and independently manage their own workload. You will also be highly motivated, enthusiastic to promote new ideas, determined to succeed in a challenging environment, has the willingness to accept considerable delegated responsibility, the ability to remain calm under pressure and a commitment to future developments in radiopharmacy services.

Working in an MHRA licensed Radiopharmacy Production facility, the purpose of this post will lead the strategic development of Radiopharmacy services as Head of Radiopharmacy for Barts Health NHS Trust. As such, the post holder is required to maintain government licenses as the named individual and Quality Controller on the MHRA 'specials' manufacturing licence.

This post has overall responsibility for the manufacture and quality of diagnostic and therapeutic radioactive medicinal products produced by the Radiopharmacy for patient administration. The post provides leadership in the Radiopharmacy and supervision of standards for the Radiopharmacy service. The post holder will be accountable for compliance with Good Manufacturing Practise (GMP) and all other relevant standards. The post holder will also be responsible for recalling products and investigating quality problems when required.
