Job summary

Here at Whipps Cross are incredibly proud of our Maternity Service that we provide within the Waltham Forest Borough. We are a supportive and friendly team dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care to our service users. We provide maternity care to around 4200 women a year and in 2022 we were awarded GOOD by the CQC.

The 2-year Postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery aims to produce competent, caring, research and evidence-based midwives, capable of delivering effective woman-centred care for mothers and their families within these contexts. This course will lead to an exciting career in Midwifery with a diverse range of opportunities to enhance your future careers.

Midwives of the 21st century practice within dynamic, rapidly changing and diverse contexts and require personal, academic and professional skills to practice in an optimum way.

During the 2-year course, time will be split between the London South Bank University Southwark and Whipps Cross University Hospital.

To be eligible for this programme Applicants will need to meet the entry criteria shown in the Job Description.

Main duties of the job

The London South Bank University will require an Academic reference before the offer isfinalised and approved; this should be from the University where you obtained your nursing qualification.

Successful applicants will need to complete and pass academic enrolment at LSBU as well as the Trust recruitment application process, as well as be cleared by OH and DBS at LSBU. Only after the above is complete will the offer be approved, and the place be secured.

Students applying for this funded training post (mid-point band 5 salary), should note that this training grant will also include University tuition fees of £9250 per annum

International students can also apply for this course if they meet the entry criteria
